Our Story

A1 Lawn was established in 2010, an independent grass seed merchant located in Carlisle supplying high quality lawn products and grass seed to customers across the UK. In 2020 the business was acquired by employee-owned Cumbrian business WCF and re-located to Scotland.

In 2023, the collective decision was made to relocate A1 Lawn, down to Orton Southgate, Peterborough sharing a warehouse with their sister company ProGreen Weed Control. This reflected the product and customer overlap between the two businesses and allowed both businesses to better serve the expertise required across the main sectors.

The modern despatch warehouse on the outskirts of Peterborough is also ideally located as a main UK transport hub. This facilitates prompt and efficient delivery to our customers and allows us to stock a wider range of products.

UK Products

Using a dedicated group of loyal supply partners, our grass seed and lawn care products are made right here in the UK. They contain only quality mixes and sell through our website and online marketplaces to thousands of loyal domestic customers and professionals. We stock an extensive range of products aimed at satisfying the requirements of those who aspire to own and enjoy a beautiful garden.

Our sister company Progreen delivers a full range of professional landscaping and land management products through high quality technical advice and trusted expertise.

A1 Lawn is a member of professional trade bodies and many of our team are BASIS and FACTS qualified.  This ensures that we always understand industry changes and how they may affect us and you, as well as keeping on top of required and desired product developments.

As an employee-owned business, A1 Lawn places our customers at the heart of everything we do. Customer retention is critical and we aim to develop long-lasting relationships with our customers to encourage them to order from us again and recommend us to their friends and family. Whilst our website offers a knowledge database and the convenience of on-line ordering, our Technical Advisers are available at our UK base in Peterborough to talk to if required.

Community Minded

We are delighted to be able to provide local people with diverse and interesting roles. We support local communities by providing charitable donations of both cash and product to a range of charities. We also encourage our teams to take part in volunteering and fund-raising.
