Which Is Better; Grass Seed or Turf ?

This is the first choice to be made when approaching grassing a new area of garden or lawn. There are many high-quality turfs available on the market, and whilst we would prefer you to use our seed, we will discuss some advantages and disadvantages of using both Turf and Grass Seed.


Advantages of Grass Seed

  • Grass seed is almost 90% cheaper than turf.
  • It is the easiest and quickest solution for smaller areas of lawn and ongoing repairs.

  • Grass seed comes in a diverse choice of seed mixes.

  • You can choose the grass that is specific to your requirememnts.

  • Grass seed takes better than turf does in more difficult growing conditions.

  • Any spare seed can be kept in storage and used to thicken and repair later.

  • Grass seed doesn't need to be sown straight away after purchase.
  • It is the only cost-effective option for large areas.

  • Grass seed can be easy and qucik to sow.

Advantages of Turf

  • Turf is less susceptible to birds, which freshly spread grass seed is.

  • Turf is less vulnerable in heavy rain. especially if it has been used on slopes.
