Kurtail Lawn is our brand new product in the Kurtail range that combines four active ingredients for maximum efficiency in treating horsetail, it will also treat a variety of other weed species in turf including tough weeds such as: yarrow, self-heal, buttercup, white clover, daisy, deadnettle, speedwell, Shepherd’s Purse, and Field Forget-me-not.
Need advice on how to kill marestail/horsetail? Call us on 0800 411 8141.
The effectiveness of many weedkillers can be reduced by some of the ingredients being “locked up,” especially in hard water areas. We can help reduce this problem and maximise its effect on marestail by simply adding KPlus+ to the spray tank. Recommended safety clothing / PPE as follows: protective clothing (coverall), protective gloves, eye/face protection and respiratory protection.

Q: When is the best time to apply herbicide to horsetail?
A: The best time to apply herbicide is when the plant is actively growing, typically in late spring or early summer. This allows the herbicide to be absorbed and translocated to the rhizomes.
Q: Will mowing help with horsetail control?
A: Mowing alone will not control horsetail. It will simply cut back the above-ground growth, and the plant will regrow from its rhizomes. However, repeated mowing can weaken the plant over time, especially when combined with other control methods.
Q: Is horsetail a weed?
A: Horsetail, while considered a weed, has unique beauty and ancient medicinal uses. It's also used in organic fertilisers and may have antifungal properties.
