"I ordered the Platinum Pro (without Rye). It is a good price and has from what I have researched to be the best fine fescue cultivars (Siskin, Esparina, Nigella, Cezanne, Sergei). I tried a Barenbrug mix (green velvet the perfectionist) with lesser rated cutivars and poor germination. I'm not sure how good the germination is yet as I only sowed in a few days ago, but what is in the mix and the price is very good. It all depends on what you are looking for though as each one uses their own cultivars and have their own percentage of species mixed in which is why I make my own mixes if including rye as I know exactly what cultivars I want and no one supplier offers what I desire so I combine two types at an increase cost, but better overall result by far. E.g. The best rye grass seeds comes from Germinal with the A5 mix (Cabrio is the main one here as it's finer than the barenbrug alternative and also has superior colour). However if I want a fescue in the mix then germinals fescues are not great in comparison to A1 lawns.All suppliers state they have amazing seed etc, but it's best to look at the the rating for what you really want in them (finess of blade, colour, density, disease resistance etc.) and what types fit you location. For my needs A1 lawn has what I want."
